Draft governance statement for a live automated service.Current provider coverage, automation, evidence, and limitations are described below. Human-review procedures, correction channels, accountable owner, jurisdiction, and effective date still require approval.

1. What exists today

The free Vibe Check crawls one public website and uses OpenAI to produce a structured business-understanding result. The paid report generates 10 customer questions, checks them through OpenAI with live web search, stores the provider answers and citations, and builds a private report.

Marketing sample reports are illustrative. Private customer reports are built from completed backend checks.

2. How AI is used

Automation is used to:

  • Understand public information on a submitted website without treating website text as instructions.
  • Create neutral customer questions that do not put the target business name into the question.
  • Check whether OpenAI’s web-backed answer recommends, cites, mentions, or misses the business.
  • Collect named businesses, provider answer text, and source citations.
  • Generate evidence-linked website changes, replacement copy, content ideas, competitor takeaways, and a 30-day plan.

The backend validates that report recommendations cite persisted website or provider evidence. They are automated drafts, not human review or a guarantee.

3. Working principles

Be clear

Customers should be able to tell when a result was generated or summarized with automation and when a person reviewed it.

Show the evidence

Where practical, reports should show the question tested, the result observed, and the source behind a conclusion instead of presenting a mystery score.

Do not promise rankings

AI outputs change. Cite N Seek should not promise a placement, citation, recommendation, traffic result, or return on investment.

Keep humans responsible

Customers should review recommendations before changing their websites. High-impact complaints, safety issues, and disputed results should have a human escalation path.

4. Quality, review, and known limits

AI services can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent answers. Results differ by model, time, location, wording, personalization, and source availability. The OpenAI API result is not guaranteed to match a consumer ChatGPT session.

Customers must review recommendations and source links before publishing changes. Cite N Seek does not promise a ranking, citation, recommendation, traffic result, or return on investment.

5. Data and providers

OpenAI is the only live AI recommendation-check provider at launch and uses live web search for paid reports. Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and a production live Microsoft Copilot check are not included until their adapters are connected. Microsoft and Bing may be discussed only as readiness, not as a fabricated provider result.

The service sends the submitted website and minimum analysis context needed to build the requested report. Vercel hosts the application, Neon stores report data, and Stripe verifies payments.

6. Decisions still open

  • AI and search providers used for each report
  • Difference between free and paid review levels
  • Human review and escalation process
  • Testing, monitoring, correction, and incident procedures
  • Customer data sent to each provider
  • Vendor retention, training, and transfer settings
  • Public contact, accountable owner, and reporting channel
  • Jurisdiction, effective date, and review schedule
